The ETIM standard ensures that products are classified into clear product classes, with standardized characteristics and properties.

Because these characteristics are recorded in a uniform manner, product information becomes understandable and comparable, regardless of language or supplier.

Management of product classifications

The product classes and characteristics within the ETIM standard are managed by Ketenstandaard Bouw en Techniek. This organization ensures that the classifications remain up-to-date and align with the needs of the sector.

As a result, the product information remains not only uniform but also future-proof and suitable for use within the entire construction and installation sector.

How Berla applies these standards

Within Berla, all product information is managed in one central Product Information Management (PIM) system. In this system, all
data stored according to the ETIM structure.

This means that the following information, among others, is centrally managed and updated:

• new products
• price changes
• changed product dimensions
• technical specifications

This central approach ensures that all information within Berla is managed and controlled from a single source.
