MEES Foundation chooses Berla Lighting

The MEES Foundation recently opened its doors in Prinsenbeek, where it has established a home. This organization offers day care for children aged 0 to 18 with multiple disabilities.

About fifteen years ago, the Mees Foundation began as a small care provider in the Haagse Beemden area, at the Olympia Child Center. Besides striving for high-quality care, ensuring that the children truly feel at home is also a priority. Located in the heart of a primary school, interaction with the students was very natural. Collaboration was quickly established, whether it involved Mees children enrolled in regular classes or primary school students attending the Mees Foundation. All of this emphasized the importance of inclusivity and the fact that there is a place for everyone.

New housing

With the growing need for space, both for healthcare and due to regulations, it became clear that the current location was no longer suitable. After an extensive search, the building at Logtenburg 2 in Prinsenbeek was found. Extensive renovations were required, but the opportunity was seized with both hands.

Architect Dick Embregts created a well-thought-out design for this building, allowing renovations to begin quickly. The keys were handed over on October 1, 2023, and with the help of local businesses, particularly NR meubel en interieur, and a great deal of personal dedication, they are now proud of the result.

Lighting

Due to the children's specific care needs, it was important that they feel as comfortable as possible. In our experience, lighting contributes significantly to this. By using various light colors and dimming options, an atmosphere is created that exudes complete tranquility. A starry sky has been installed in the sensory room, which, combined with soothing images and sounds, can provide some children with the comfort they need.
Through the collaboration with TES Installation Technology We were able to complete this project very successfully. The technical expertise of TES installation technology and the experience of Berla Lighting were the perfect symbiosis for this beautiful project.
